Our Journey

Inspired by their shared belief in the “transformational power of music,” Mark and Oliver founded RedZebra in 1994.

They were soon awarded a Prince’s Trust grant for a short-term integration project, which fueled their belief that music unites and strengthens communities.

In 1999, they met their third partner, Gloria Williams, who, inspired by experiencing a workshop, launched the RedZebra USA office in San Diego.

Together, they share a vision, a brand, a lifelong friendship, and an ever-present drive to make a positive impact.

In 1998, just four years after the end of apartheid, Oliver and Mark ran a project in Soweto, uniting black and white children—a bold act of reconciliation at that time. Here, they realized the incredible power of shared experiences to generate real and tangible change.

In 2000, Mark relocated to his country of birth and established an office in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Together, Mark, Oliver, and Gloria have ignited possibilities, impacting over 2 million individuals in more than 100 countries.
